Behind every thriving community are women striving to provide, innovate, and uplift others. Many have the skills and dreams, but lack the resources to turn them into reality.

At Giving Heart Foundation, we believe that when a woman is empowered, an entire community is strengthened. That’s why we are committed to creating opportunities that help women access finance, training, and mentorship to achieve their goals.

Our approach.

1. Skill training and livelihood support; In sewing, tailoring and liquid soap making, agricultural skills and small-scale farming such as piggery farming.
2. Access to income and saving;  Support women to start small businesses where they can always earn daily income.
3. Health and hygiene awareness; Train women on how to make reusable sanitary pads, sanitation and hygiene training in schools and women groups.
4. Leadership and agency; encourage women in participate in community decision-making.

Our impact so far

• 100 women have been trained in sewing and tailoring  in Mityana district.
• 50 women have been supported with sewing machines and small start-up kits in Iganga district. 
• over 40 women have taken up leadership roles in community association and church groups after empowerment training in Jinja district.

Challenges.

• Limited access to larger markets for women's products.
• High demand for start-up kits compared to available resources.
• Cultural barriers in some villages where women still lack decision-making power.

Our future plan.

• Link women entrepreneurs to bigger markets and cooperatives.
• Expand skills training to 5 more rural districts.
• Strengthen mentorship programs for young mothers and adolescent girls. 

Empowering women in rural Uganda is creating ripple effects, improved family welfare, better school attendance for children, and stronger community resilience. With continued support, Giving Heart Foundation Uganda aims to reach 1000+ rural women by 2026, transforming lives through empowerment, dignity ,and  hope.
